Peru's Air Force UFO Office

Catalog FG-075When 2001 – 2008, reopened 2013Where Lima, Peru

Peru's Air Force opens, closes and reopens an office dedicated to anomalous aerial phenomena.

The Peruvian Air Force created a department to investigate anomalous aerial phenomena in 2001, after a wave of sightings including the Chulucanas case that year. It brought together Air Force personnel with astronomers, sociologists and archaeologists. The office closed a few years later because of administrative problems and was reopened in 2013 after an increase in reports.
